Adam Alayli

Adam Alayli is an Ax:son Johnson Institute for Statecraft and Diplomacy Pre-doctoral Fellow at the Centre for Statecraft and National Security at King’s College London.

Adam Alayli is a Fellow at the Centre for Statecraft and National Security and a PhD researcher in War Studies at King’s College London. His research examines clan networks, armed mobilisation, and political violence during the Syrian civil war, with a focus on eastern Syria’s Middle Euphrates River Valley. Alayli holds an MA in Terrorism, Security and Society from King’s College London, where he was also a Graduate Researcher at the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation. Alongside his academic work, he has held roles in London local government across counter-extremism and refugee and asylum support services. His wider interests include Sunni political movements, non-state armed actors, and post-conflict governance in the Levant.
